Introduction to Figure 8 self-supporting optical cable
The figure 8 optical cable is a figure 8 self-supporting structure. The cable core is a single bundle tube, which is directly covered with PE material. Among them, the suspension wire part adopts galvanized steel wire to ensure that the steel bar is not exposed to corrosion at the point of infinite span, and longitudinal water-blocking yarn is placed in the cable core part to ensure that each section of the optical cable is impermeable. The optical cable has a compact structure, light weight, small geometric size, and is easy to construct and maintain.

Outdoor installation of Figure 8 self-supporting optical cable
● Suitable for self-supporting aerial, duct or direct buried installation environments
● Color-coded fiber and adhesive provide quick and easy identification during installation
● Tear cord design allows simple removal of outer jacket
● Compatible with existing figure-8 hardware
● Flexible buffer tube makes splicing and wiring simple
● Oil-filled loose tube provides good protection for fiber
● UV and moisture resistant, suitable for outdoor installation
Outdoor applications of Figure 8 self-supporting optical cable
Figure 8 cable suitable for long-distance high-current inter-office communication and power transmission. The steel suspension wire structure ensures tensile strength and is easy to install overhead. The steel suspension wire and the optical cable are integrated and can be stretched and tightened at will. This optical cable is light in weight and has high tensile strength.

Structural description of Figure 8 self-supporting optical cable
The figure 8 optical cable is made of 3 layers of 5-36 optical fibers twisted around the central reinforcement member, and a sheath is squeezed on the outside. Each casing contains 4-12 optical fibers and waterproof gel filling. Solid core or multi-strand galvanized steel wire is squeezed on the outside with a polyethylene sheath as a suspension wire. The central reinforcement member can be used as a dielectric fiber reinforced plastic, and aramid yarn or glass fiber yarn is wrapped around the outside of the casing to protect it from tensile damage. The water-blocking gel filling is distributed between the cores and is wrapped with a water-blocking tape on the outside. The outer sheath material is polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, low smoke and halogen-free, and polyethylene has a waterproof function. If direct burial is required, add a steel wire armor or steel belt armor structure, and the inner sheath is polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. A layer of aluminum tape is applied inside the sheath to provide waterproof shielding. The optical cable and the steel suspension wire are connected by polyethylene material in a figure-8 shape, and the tear cord is inside the sheath to facilitate the removal of the sheath.
